This site is for historical reference only, it is a compilation of the records from the Estate of Marie Wamser, Fra-Mar Siberians.
Most of the information is compiled from notes written in Marie's own handwriting, therefore there may be a few "translation" errors.
Pedigrees have been verified with Pawvillage.com with corrections and additions made to PawVilliage where neccesary.
The following is an excerpt from the book "The Siberian Husky" by Joan McDonald Brearley published by T.F.H. Publications, Inc. 1992.
"Fra-Mar
One of the oldest and most famous kennels in the breed is Marie Wamser's Fra-Mar Kennels in Valley City, Ohio, begun in 1954.
Marie has produced a long line of top show and racing dogs over the years.
The name Fra-Mar is a combination of husband Frank and Marie's names and it was actually a Pug with which they started.
In March 1959, the Chicago show, Marie saw Ch Monadnock's Pando, owned by Lorna Demidoff, and was determined to have a Siberian.
Lorna had no puppies at the time, and Marie was referred to the Frosty Aires Kennels, owned by Jack and Donna Foster.
There she purchased and eight-week-old, the future Ch Frosty Aires Alcan King.
Her next show quality Siberian was Ch Fra-Mar's Miserah, also purchased at eight weeks of age.
Miserah was purchased with the pormise to breed back to her father, Ch Frosty Aire's Beau Tuk.
This gave Marie three lines to work with, which she still holds dear today.
Alcan Kin[g] was the Fourth Best in Show winner in the breed; this was the second Best in Show for the Fra-Mar Kennls (Soan also won a BIS).
Marie feels that with her relatively small kennel, she has proven herself with her winnings, and she also counts among her most inportant dogs: Best in Show Ch Lo-Bo Rey Rayle Diavol and Moon Glow, Tadzhik Tango Zhuliak of Siber, and Nikolai Diavol.
Marie is a charter member of the Greater Cleveland club and is active in all phases of the breed."
Diavol means Devil and has always been used in naming dogs of Marie's own breeding. As she says, "All the little Devils are mine."
