Charlyn's Hope and Joy of Sitka, CD, CGC
Joy is the product of our very first breeding from Brenlar's Banner of Silistra and a beautiful black bitch, Sitka of Anya, who is down from the Anadyr line of Earl and Natalie Norris.
Only in our wildest of dreams, did we expected the product of this breeding to produce our "true" foundation bitch. Joy has always given us her best, with her sound structure, wonderful temperament and has honored us with her continuous companionship. Her first couple of years she was shown and awarded a total of nine points and five reserves to majors. When she reached her third birthday she was retired from the show ring to begin her breeding career.
With the guidance from our good friend, Brenda Turner (Brenlar) arrangements were made to breed her to Ch. Kaila's Baccarat.. The breeding produced, "Deaver", Ch. Charlyn's Kailian Endeaver, who has given us our second generation of Group-Winning Champions and natural lead-dogs. Joy was bred next to Am/Can. Ch. Galena Creek's I'm A Bear Too. We are very pleased with the bitch we kept, "Candy", Charlyn's Almond Joy, who was a main stay on our sled dog team, needing only one major to finish her Championship.
Joys next breeding was to Ch. Kaila's Silent Snow. A very nice bitch came from this breeding and we decided to share this bitch with a young lady named, Kristen Boyes. This "special bitch" became Multi-Group Winning Ch. Charlyn's Bundle of Joy, Charly" who also was the SHCA 1999 Top-Winning bitch and the only Siberian in history to win Group One at the Golden Gate Kennel Club. After having such wonderful success with the first breeding between Joy and Snowy we decided to repeat the breeding for Joy's last litter. This breeding produced another beautiful bitch, "Cassie", BISS Charlyn's Joyous Occasion, BOB winner of the 1999 Northern California Siberian Husky Club's specialty under Breeder/Judge Anna Mae Forsberg. Charly and Cassie have followed in their mother's paws by producing some very special get themselves. Look for them on our web page.
Joy also completed her CD (companion dog title) in three shows making her our first obedience titled dog. At 13 years old Joy was the dam, grand dam and great-grand dam of the leaders of our "Team Charlyn".
Joy passed away to the rainbow bridge in 2006. She is our star in the sky that will shine for eternity. We will NEVER forget...

Thank you to Joy's long time friend, Jim Dagan for his lovely job handling her for her win of an Award of Merit at the Rocky Mt. Siberian Husky Club Specialty, spring of 2002. What a nice way to retire the "old girl".
