As we have grown and prospered with our Siberians, we have continued to recognize the "old time breeders" that guided us as well as educated us in the devolvement of our dogs. There have been several influential people whom have played their parts and we would like to take the time to recognize them.

We are ONLY successful today because of their teachings, support and criticism. So often breeders today forget about who they learned from (good and bad) and think they were born Siberian Husky experts. That's not the case at Charlyn. We have been blessed to have had breeders such as Dick and Pauline Price (Kaila), Gene and Karen Stinson (Silistra) as our early mentors, and most recently we have been heavily influenced by Kip and Carol Preble (Lodgepole) and Wayne and Chris Curtis (Stormwatch) strain of working dogs. Our success can be directly linked to them and our success reflects their breeding programs.

In a way, they deserve MOST of the recognition! It is up to us to ensure we carry on to success with our dogs in the future.

But for everyone (at least the ones to admit it) there is always that one mentor who took you under their wing early and forged a bond that will last a lifetime. They are the one who offers congrats when deserved, but also criticism when you (Dave) steps out of line. They are also the one no matter how much they scold you for blundering they still support your efforts in preserving the breed (assuming that is what you are doing!). They are quick to forgive and help you right yourself putting the past in the past and moving forward. And they are the ones you don't dare question their concerns, out of respect. In our case she is the one who gave us our first show puppy, resulting in a Championship for him. We still to this day honor her lines and continue to move forward with them.

We have been truly blessed to have as our Mentor, Brenda Turner (Brenlar). After 20 years in the breed she is still an intricate part of our dogs and we are proud to have her as our mentor. Thank you Brenda for you teachings, understandings, criticism and most importantly your friendship. Our success is your success and WE are NOT done yet!
